After reading numerous articles about the plastic trash the size of Texas floating in our oceans, I've decided to go green. It really is unbelievable how many plastic bags Kris and I can accumulate in one week!!! After doing some research on the different options for re-usable bags, I've decided to go with Flip & Tumble. Although I will say, Baggu was a very close second (and comes in a multitude of colors)! However, Flip & Tumble comes in scarlet and gray, so that right there was enough to convince me to buy. Plus it is very easy to get it back into a little ball, where Baggu takes a little more time to actually fold. I'm very excited to start saving the environment one plastic bag at a time!
I haven't actually placed my order yet, so let me know if any of you have advice or a different bag I should check out before I purchase my new Flip & Tumble.

Great job I will be doing the same when I move back. here it is so popular that every one does it the stores here even make you pay for plastic bags in some places.... even nice boutiques give you cloth bags when you buy something so you don't throw it away... I always have a bag with me.... it is always in my purse bc they can fold up so small... it is a nice thing to do for our word...something else you can do that is so little but makes a big difference is stop getting receipts... most places you can say you don't want a reciept and they wont print one... like ATM's, banks, gas stations.
You inspired me to do the same-and then I saw the price of those things! Crazy! I will just use the $1 ones from Kroger-don't care if they give me mean looks at Randalls lol.
you are way behind the times! in Seattle you have to pay a fee at the store when you don't bring your own bag!
p.s. for those of you who want cuter bags for a $1 than the Kroger brand--try stopping at whole foods to pick up a few. They have cute designs and depending on which one you like, you can get a bag that is made from 80% recycled plastic bottles and they are very sturdy.
